1.27mm Pitch Single Row SMT Female Header Connector Low Profile Tape Reel PCB Socket

Half millimetre savings in height and a 1.27mm contact grid can be the difference between a wearable device that closes cleanly and one that does not. This single row SMT female header is moulded to a 2.0mm body height, low enough to sit under a display flex or a battery pack, and it is supplied on tape and reel so pick and place machines can populate it without a manual step. The single row format keeps the footprint narrow, which suits slim edge connectors and board to wire transitions.

The surface mount tails are coplanar within 0.10mm, a tolerance that matters at 1.27mm pitch because a tilted part will lift one corner of the contact row and create an open joint after reflow. Phosphor bronze contacts and gold flash over nickel complete the electrical path, while the PA6T body carries a pick up pad on the top face so the nozzle has a flat, vacuum tight surface to work with.

Low profile single row sockets are used where a board has to connect upward but cannot afford height. Wearables and medical patches use them to join a sensor flex to a rigid main board, smart meters use them to bring a communication module onto the metering PCB, and handheld instruments use them for battery contact and programming headers that are only mated once in the factory. Their narrow footprint also makes them the default choice for edge connections on wearable and IoT boards where board width is the binding constraint.

We stock tape widths for 8mm and 12mm feeders and can adjust reel quantity to 1000 or 3000 pieces for smaller placement machines. Positions from 2 to 40 are cut from a common strip, so prototype volumes carry no tooling cost. Optional variants include a locating peg for panel alignment, a mylar cap for vacuum pickup on very short lengths, gold thickness at 0.38 or 0.76 micron, and a PA9T body for products that pass through a second reflow. Engineering can also supply a matched male header so that both sides of the stack come from one drawing.

Reels are packed in anti-static moisture barrier bags with desiccant, vacuum sealed and labelled with quantity, date code and MSL level. Four reels go into each export carton, which is reinforced at the corners because a dropped reel will crease the carrier tape and jam a feeder. Cartons carry the CNJWY neutral label and a humidity indicator. For air freight the gross weight is capped at 15 kg, and sea freight pallets are stretch wrapped to keep the carrier tape flat in transit. Own-brand reel labels, custom tape pocket depth and barcoded carton marking are available, and every lot ships with a coplanarity report plus a first article dimensional sheet.
