0.8mm Pitch Fine Pitch Mezzanine Female Header Connector Dual Row 2x30P Stacking PCB Socket

When two boards have to be stacked within a housing that is only a few millimetres thick, the connector pitch becomes the limiting factor before anything else does. At 0.8mm pitch this dual row female header fits sixty contacts into a body just over 12mm long, giving designers a board to board interface that stays inside the outline of the smaller PCB. It is the density class used by handheld instruments, camera modules and compact radio units, where a 1.27mm connector would overhang the board edge.

Fine pitch board to board parts live or die on coplanarity. Every contact here is held in a moulded cell with a controlled tail window, and the finished tail row is checked for flatness across the full length of the body. Gold plating of 0.38 micron over nickel keeps the contact interface stable at low mating forces, which matters because the springs must be light enough to allow hand assembly of a small mezzanine stack without stressing the solder joints.

Mezzanine connectors at 0.8mm pitch are found in products where board area is precious and height is fixed by the enclosure. Handheld ultrasound probes use them to join an analogue front end board to a digital processing board, camera modules use them for sensor to ISP connections, and compact radio units use them between an RF board and a baseband board. They also appear in industrial sensor heads, in point of sale terminals that stack a display board over a main board, and in automotive camera housings where the two boards must align to within a fraction of a millimetre.

Body heights of 4.0, 5.0, 6.5 and 8.0mm are available from the same contact system, and a matching male header is quoted from the same drawing so that the stack height is guaranteed. Positions from 2 x 10 to 2 x 40 are produced without tooling charges. We can add a shielding shell for RF sensitive stacks, a hold down tab for mechanical retention, and tape and reel packing for automated placement. For automotive programmes the plating can be raised to 0.76 micron and the insulator moved to a higher temperature grade, and we provide a full first article inspection report with the sample order.

Fine pitch mezzanine sockets ship in anti-static trays of 1000 pieces, with each part sitting in its own pocket so no contact touches a neighbour. Trays are stacked with foam interleaves in export cartons carrying the CNJWY neutral label, and every carton is marked with the moisture sensitivity level because these parts are reflow only. Gross weight is capped at 15 kg for air freight and pallets for sea freight are stretch wrapped against container humidity. Tape and reel packing is available for automated lines. Each shipment includes a coplanarity report, a first article dimensional sheet and a plating thickness certificate drawn from the same production lot.
