0.5mm Pitch Ultra Fine Mezzanine Female Header Connector Dual Row 2x30P Stacking PCB Socket

Half millimetre pitch is where board stacking stops being a mechanical problem and becomes a precision one. This mezzanine female header fits sixty contacts into a body 17.4mm long and 3.6mm wide, which lets two PCBs connect inside a housing that is thinner than the connector on most competing designs. It is the density class used inside camera modules, wearable sensor stacks and handheld instruments, where every tenth of a millimetre of height has a direct effect on the product outline.

At this pitch, coplanarity decides yield. Each tail is held in a moulded window and the finished contact row is flatness inspected across the full body, holding 0.06mm. Gold plating of 0.30 micron over a nickel barrier maintains a stable interface at the light mating forces that fine pitch springs must use, and moulded guide posts centre the mating header before any contact touches, protecting the springs during blind assembly.

Ultra fine mezzanine connectors appear in products where the enclosure height is fixed and the board area is already fully used. Camera modules connect image sensors to ISP boards through them, wearable and hearable devices use them to join a sensor flex board to a rigid main board, and handheld diagnostic instruments use them between an analogue front end and a processing board. They also serve in compact radio modules, optical transceiver assemblies and automotive camera housings, where the two boards must align to within a fraction of a millimetre during assembly.

Body heights of 3.0, 4.0, 5.0 and 6.0mm are produced from one contact system, and the matching male header is quoted from the same drawing so stack height is guaranteed. Positions from 2 x 10 to 2 x 40 carry no tooling charge. We can add a shielding shell for RF sensitive stacks, a hold down tab for mechanical retention in drop tested products, and tape and reel packing for automated placement. For automotive programmes plating can rise to 0.76 micron and the insulator can move to a higher temperature grade, with a full first article inspection report supplied with samples.

Parts leave the line in anti-static bags or moulded trays, with the pin field protected by a foam interleaf so that no contact bears the weight of the carton above. Export cartons are printed with the CNJWY neutral label and sealed with tamper evident tape, and the gross weight stays below 15 kg for air freight. Pallet loads for ocean shipment are stretch wrapped and strapped for humidity control. Custom carton printing, own-brand reel or bag labels and barcoded cartons are available, and each shipment carries a first article dimensional sheet, a plating thickness certificate and a RoHS declaration referenced to the lot number.
